let folks see you

As we already know, 2020 and the beginning of 2021 has been overwhelmingly awful for several reasons - a global pandemic, police brutality, economic disaster, government insurrections, etc. On a personal note, as a teacher, school closings and increased pressure from politicians to parents has been an unnecessary addition to the nonsense. In the midst of all the madness, I have decided to begin a personal journey of exploring my own creativity by creating a digital space to discuss teacher life, self-care (because teacher life can be rough), and the triumphs and trials of being a Black woman.

I was inspired to begin this little journey after watching @evelynfromtheinternets video titled, “Don’t Be Afraid to be Seen Trying”. In the video she talks about the feelings of vulnerability and ridiculousness when publicly trying something new. Although trying something new could be potentially embarrassing, your attempt could also be empowering for yourself or someone else. So…this is me letting go of fear and trying my something new…welcome to the afro musings❤️
